The Difference of A Thing

Last week was very challenging for three of my dearest friends. Each one is pursuing a career path that they believe God has chosen for them. However, all of them allowed a Spirit of Doubt to slither in and attack their faith. I, of course, can’t judge them because I, too, have been guilty of this numerous times through out my life.  However, in today’s message entitled, “The Difference of A Thing,” I want to share with you the very important lesson that I not only learned and was able to impart with them by way of encouragement.

To begin, a thing is defined as an act, deed or object. With that said, did you know that there are over 56 words that contain the letters T-H-I-N-G?  That’s great news for someone who loves to play Scramble. For the sake of this post, there are only four words that I’d like to focus on that contain those same letters: Everything, Nothing, Something and Anything.

Essentially, one of the most important lessons that I’ve learned about faith consists of four main points that encompasses each of these words.

  • Reflect on everything that the Lord has already done in your life.
  • Nothing is too big for the Author and Finisher of our fate.
  • Trusting God is not something we should do, it’s what we must do!
  • With the Holy Creator, anything becomes possible.

So, whenever someone tries to make you doubt God’s vision, please refuse to feed into the enemy’s trap.  Romans 8:28 NIV tells us, “… in all things God works for the good of those who love Him, who have been called according to His purpose.”

Don’t forget, you are the Child of the Most High God. Therefore, mediate on “The Difference of A Thing.” What exactly is that, you might wonder? It’s quite simple, really. God will turn that nothing into something. Furthermore, with Him, everything and anything doesn’t have to remain a distance dream but can become a possible reality!
